In the normal course of review, the State of New York's Office of Real Property Tax Services and the assessment office have reviewed the parcels again to check the new assessments for accuracy. During this review, it was determined that when the change in assessment notices were printed, an issue with the software provided by the state (used to complete the reassessment and valuation process) produced a number of incorrect valuations.
This error resulted in an incorrect number being moved into the assessment value. Some residents may be receiving a letter because your property was identified as one of the parcels that this error happened to. We have corrected the error, revised your assessed value, and are including a revised change in assessment notice, along with your updated comparable, to those effected.
Please click here, view the link below on our Home Page, or visit the Town Assessment page for the full letter going home to those effected by this error and for more detailed information.
