NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a vacancy exists on the Town Board of the Town of Walworth due to the resignation of Councilmember Linson, effective July 1, 2026.
Pursuant to New York State Town Law § 64(5), the Town Board is seeking qualified, civic-minded residents interested in serving the community. The individual appointed will fill the vacancy for a term ending on December 31, 2026.

Legal Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for appointment under New York State Public Officers Law § 3 and Town Law § 23, candidates must meet the following criteria at the time of the interview:
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Residency: Must be a resident of the Town of Walworth.
- Voter Status: Must be a registered voter within the town.
Interview Process: The Town Board will hold a Special Meeting to conduct walk-in interviews for any residents who meet the legal requirements listed above. No pre-registration or advance paperwork is required.
Candidates will be interviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Pursuant to the New York State Open Meetings Law, the Town Board will convene the public meeting and immediately vote to go into Executive Session to interview each candidate individually regarding their qualifications and employment history.
Candidates are highly encouraged to bring a copy of their resume or a brief statement of qualification to the meeting.
